September 2009 -Funk Finds Blogspot September 2009 - Fab Frocks Blogspot I first heard about fairytales and Hidden notes when I saw some of their whimsical jewellery on the Kingdom of style blog. Then they popped up in the left side bar somewhere as one of the project wonderful advertisers, and I knew it was time to give their website a good look over. And boy, did I like what I saw! .I've already said it, but whimsical is the first word that springs to mind when you see this jewellery. You could also use quirky, but i'm not a big fan of that word: it's been too overused! Anyway, i'm rambling, and what I should be doing is showing you jewels you would sell your grandma for. Not that you would need to sell your grandma: this stuff is available for pocket money prices! . Here are the most covetable pieces: Divers helmet necklace, £18
Curiouser and curiouser ring, £6.50 (this is by far my favourite!) Birdcage necklace, £16 .The blurb on the site sums it up better than I can: "Taking inspiration from all that is Vintage, Romantic and Mischievous we spend our time creating pretty pieces of jewellery " The whole website is like a walk in wonderland. . As Alice in Wonderland becomes more and more in vogue (thank you Tim Burton and beautiful Johnny Depp) I think the popularity of this kind of jewellery can only increase; perfect for dressing up and dressing down and always making a statement. And that can only be a good thing! . Love, Tor x August 2009 - SugarscapeYou HAVE to look at these... Sometimes the more quirky and more gold the jewellery, the better! So Fairytales & Hidden Notes have got it just right. These whimsical trinkets, made by London-based designer Aartthie, are becoming highly-coveted pieces, and it's easy to see why! With everything from telescope, envelope and military badge pendants to musical note rings, you can accessorise in the most unique fashion. We suggest you head to the website to check out the whole collection, but we've got a few of our favourites here as well...
Birdcage Necklace - £16
Divers Helmet - £18
Letter In Envelope - £15
Telescope - £25 So is it too quirky for your taste or are you adding them to your wishlist?! August 2009 - Neon Enlightement August 26, 2009 – 9:31 pm Inspiration from all that is vintage and create jewellery for your fairytales. That’s what it says on their homepage. After you have taken a look through the collection, you can confirm this statement. The label was created cause of the designer’s love for pretty things. So they made those things reality and the little brother came up with the name. Fairytales & Hidden Notes was a fact. From lockets to little enveloppe bracelets and music note inscripted rings, the label just has it all. I especially like the ‘drink me’ bottle necklace, inspired by Alice in Wonderland and the brooche, which combines a bird and a musical note. (If i have to be honest, I can’t choose, love it all…)
Every once in a while they create limited edition items (not always jewellery), so you have to visit the page regularly! Great idea and beautiful things, NE supports this.

August 2009 - WISH WISH WISHhttp://wishwishwish.net/?p=593 You might have noticed Fairytales and Hidden Notes over in my Sponsors section on the right, and I only ever let the coooolest websites advertise here. My favourite type of jewellery is simple necklaces with twee little charms (however over-done that might be right now) and Fairytales and Post it Notes do it oh so well. I love the telescope necklace! f . August 2009 - Whos Jack Front Cover & Editorial We are on the Front cover of Whos Jack magazine
The lovely model is wearing our Telescope Necklace and Treasure Chest Necklace. And we are featured inside on their editorial aswell. You can see another popular piece here - the Birdcage Necklace.
August 2009 - Kingdom Of Style In an ideal world there would be no blog wars, no needless competition, no idiotic anonymous commentors and everyone would just get along. Clearly a total fairytale. But fairytales are there to help us imagine what could be, or could have been, and make the world seem more magical than it actually is in reality. So when I got an email about a shop called Fairytales And Hidden Notes I wanted in. I wanted to be in a world of fairytales and post it notes. Nobody ever writes anything bad on a post it note do they? Or do they? I've only ever had mundane stuff like 'buy milk' or 'phone this client' on those wee colourful bits of paper. The jewellery looks like little curious trinkets like mini divers helmets, telescopes and birdcages. When not worn, these would look amazing placed in the dollhouse I have stored under my bed which is yet to be assembled.
Queen Michelle July 2009 - Fused Magazine http://www.fusedmagazine.com/2009/07/30/once-upon-a-time/#more-2412
Fairytales and Hidden Notes have created a range of vintage jewellery which shows a distinct style and expresses a unique look with everything from necklaces to rings, brooches and even hair trinkets. The collection is individual and really cute, with a magical feel to it. Inspiration is taken from all that is ‘Vintage, Romantic and Mischievous’. If you are looking for something different this is a great place to look. The majority of the items are under £10, which is great because there are so many pieces that you will want to take home. Fairytales and Post it Notes sell jewellery online and most Sundays you can find them at the Backyard Market on London’s Brick Lane. Limited edition items are also created from time-to-time offering something truly unique. A great idea for gifts, or why not just treat yourself… In the overloaded mess that is my inbox, one email stood out and it was from jewellery brand Fairytales and Hidden Notes. First of all, the name alone demands you take notice and after further investigation it was clear that their style of jewellery was right up my street. Inspiration is taken from all that is 'Vintage, Romantic and Mischievous' and the designs just make me want to cast caution to the wind and start spending.
Fairytales and Post it Notes sell jewellery online and also at the Backyard Market on London's Brick Lane most Sundays. I might just have to head down there to see all the treasures for myself. Instead of being as expensive as they are beautiful, you'll find the jewellery to be modestly priced which is refreshing especially when you won't be able to choose just one piece to take home. Fairytales and Hidden Notes by Aartthie Mahakuperan -
I’ve always had a weakness for whimsical jewellery and I love these necklaces by Aartthie Mahakuperan.
Aartthie Mahakuperan lived in Saudi Arabia until the age of 6 and then moved to London. She loved clothes and playing dress up, and she’s a huge fan of funky house music, going dancing and Harry Potter! She always wanted to do something creative so she finally quit her office job and starting making jewellery. Aartthie has a stall at the Backyard Market in Brick Lane - just look for the stall with a birdcage that has shoes sitting inside it. You can also check out her site at: Fairytales and Hidden Notes.

Fairy Tales and Hidden Notes - http://thisisjack.wordpress.com/2009/07/13/bring-it-9/ Love the name of this brand and love the fact that it’s all so amazingly reasonably priced. FT&HN can be found at the Truman Brewery Market every Sunday or failing that have a look online. It will remind you of being a little girl again. Our favorite is the telescope that actually works for £25.
Fairytales and Hidden Notes a range of really sweet jewellery, that's different from most of the necklaces and rings out there at the moment. You can lift any outfit with these pieces, including real working telescope necklaces (amazing!) to 'curiouser & curiouser' emblazed statement rings, which would make Alice proud. Also in the range are the two pretty necklaces pictured above and they're very reasonably priced, which makes it all even better. I am very tempted by the 'drink' bottle necklace and the huge rings...
You can see the pieces in the flesh at the Backyard market on Brick Lane every Sunday from 10.00 - 5.00.

On Sunday June 7th the Swanfield Pop up shop opens its doors with all sorts of wonderful goodies for you to buy, eat drink and hear. Most importantly there will be jewelry on sale from Jack stylist Aartthie who makes some amazing bits including working telescopes on chains and wicked gold rings that have little birds sitting on them. She is currently just finishing off her website so you’ll have to get down there to have a look, alternatively see a few bits in this issue of Jack on the teddy boy fashion pages.
